When the auditor quits it's over . VANCOUVER, BC, Aug. 31, 2022 /CNW/ - The Very Good Food Company Inc. (NASDAQ: VGFC) (TSXV: VERY.V) (FSE: OSI) ("VERY GOOD" or the "Company"), a leading plant-based food technology company, today announced that it is postponing its annual general meeting of shareholders (the "AGM"), which was to be held on October 11, 2022.
The Company's Board of Directors decided to postpone the AGM until the Company has appointed a successor auditor. Following the resignation of KPMG LLP ("KPMG") as the Company's auditor effective August 16, 2022, the Company's Audit Committee has been engaged in discussions with potential successor audit firms and the Company expects to engage a new audit firm shortly. KPMG has confirmed there have been no "reportable events", as such term is defined in National Instrument 51-102 – Continuous Disclosure Obligations.
The Company will provide an update regarding the appointment of a successor auditor and the new date for the AGM in a further news release.
