Since he has to pay for those next week he may choose to sell some existing shares at a premium to the new issue price to partially cover that payment. and or to balance the weight of his position. Whether these assumptions are plausible or unbelieveable it is up to the readers to decide and for many or most it is of no revelance .If he can replace stock cheaper than he can sell it for that would benefit his fund holders . Obviously many people are buying and selling shares daily as volumes are high and market is liquid.
