Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd V.GMG

Alternate Symbol(s):  GMGMF | V.GMG.WT.A

Graphene Manufacturing Group Limited is a clean-technology company. The Company seeks to offer energy saving and energy storage solutions, enabled by graphene, including that manufactured in-house via a proprietary production process. It has developed a proprietary production process to decompose natural gas (methane) into its elements, carbon (as graphene), hydrogen and some residual hydrocarbon gases. This process produces scalable, tunable and low/no contaminant graphene suitable for use in clean-technology and other applications. The Company focus to de-risk and develop commercial scale-up capabilities, and secure market applications. In the energy savings segment, it has focused on graphene enhanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC-R) coating (or energy-saving paint), lubricants and fluids. In the energy storage segment, the Company and the University of Queensland are working to progress research and development and commercialization of G+AI batteries.

GMG Leading the Graphene Battery Industry

GMG Leading the Graphene Battery Industry
Lithium is expensive, environmentally detrimental, and extremely difficult to dispose of due to the numerous rare earth and chemicals within lithium-ion battery cells. This is where graphene comes in, more specifically $GMG.V’s graphene. But what makes their graphene so different from competitors? Well, they produce it directly from natural gas, allowing them to retain battery-grade purity and reduce dependence on supply chain difficulties/price fluctuations. This vertical integration will allow $GMG.V to continue being a leader in the space, especially as they inch closer to their graphene battery production.

More recently, $GMG.V released an update on their graphene batteries, and all I can say is that the development looks good.

- Energy density has increased to 290-310 Wh/kg, an increase of 93% since the last update on June 22, 2021. Power density has also increased 33% since then to around 9,350 W/kg.
- Work was conducted across the entire cell design to optimize performance, and at this rate of improvement, the coin cells aren’t too far away from initial customer sales and use.
- The estimated time to fully charge a phone went from the previous 1-5 minutes to 3 minutes.

These results make their batteries one of the leading graphene batteries in terms of energy/power density and charging speed. Charging speed is going to be a key player in graphene batteries as it reduces the downtime needed to get back into action by a significant percentage over lithium-ion. Overall, with these promising results and production around the corner, there could be significant potential for this to become a market leader in graphene batteries.
