RE:RE:RE:RE:Calibre Outperforms
You should ask Ryan King that question as he could speak to company intentions better than anyone here. However, I don't think Calibre is likely to be taken out anytime soon. When seniors have to lower their jurisdiction standards to replace reserves they'll probably favor places that aren't direct US sanctions targets and Nicaragua will be the lions share of company production for a long time. The Chinese miners might be interested but I feel like they are more opportunistic buyers in the gold space - GUY, TMAC, etc. If the company is acquired, I think B2Gold will be the most likely to do it since they already own 25% and they are already penalized for jurisdiction risk anyways. In any case, I personally think the company would need to build up it's mineable reserves to 2-3+ million ounces before somebody might be interested in buying them, at least at valuations the board would approve. They're at a million right now. The new discovery at Limon could add a lot of very high grade ounces, but they'd probably need another district scale discovery. Golden Eagle has two million ounces in resource, but it needs a JV with Hecla and Kinross to make sense so that's many years away. I think it's most likely that Calibre will be an independent miner longer than any of us will remain invested here, but that's not a bad thing at all, we just want to be here when gold reaches a new plateau and the company is basically printing money quarter after quarter. Calibre has, in my view, one of the highest rerating potentials in the gold miner space because it is presently so lowly valued for the number of profitable ozs it produces.
