Sometimes things come full circle
Sometimes things come full circleand this may be the time.
North American governments have done a halfazzed job on the legalization issues.
Canada launched and choked it at the same time. Lots of indecision and some ridiculous rules for sales and such.\
One of the good things to come out of this is a safer, more consistent supply of legal, traceable, safe and inspected marijuana and hemp.
Canada built on their medicinal class of cannabinoids which is how we got good points on this issue.
Nobody wants to make the moves necessary to choke out the cartels and gangs other than the cartels and gangs who play hardball and politicians aren't willing to play those stakes.
As this new vice gets introduced legally to our hemisphere, there have been lots of misteps and slow advance.
It seems that the US is starting to do catchup to what their cannabinoid business needs and it looks like they are ready to embrace this new vice industry and the jobs and tax revenue that come with. It could also solve a lot of problems for it as it exists now.
Illegal weed is still going to be available but it will be in competition with safe, traceable and inspected weed for close to the same price which is a no-brainer for smart consumers.
Now Biden has signed a bill for the pharma business to be able to study and determine the medicinal qualities and it looks like the politics that have been holding back the SAFE and MORE Acts from getting signed off on are in the works.
I have always maintained that the US greeenrush is going to make Canada's look small and I still believe it.
This legislation opens the doors for banking, borrowing, being able to use credit cards and for investors to legally be able to buy shares in these companies as bona fide investments with potential.
Canopy Growth is the leader and amongst the first to launch a serious tail to snout marijuana business.
Constellation read their tea leaves and saw the writing on the wall for some of their soft beverage alcohol losing marketshare to cannabinoid infused beverages.
They took action and made an offer to Canopy to be a major player and bring their style of business management to a whole new industry.
They also saw the US as being necessary for the type of success they are used to achieving and their choice was to stake their claim with Acreage Holdings.
The pot biz was allowed to stew in its own juice while the politics of it sorted itself out.
Canopy/Constellation got tired of waiting and have given notice that they are moving ahead with putting together all of the loose ends to continue to be a major force as a world class potpreneur backed by professional business experience and ability.
Acreage has been in the hands of marketmakers and drawn on heavily by Murphy and his team and Canopy floundered in choppy water along with all of the rest of the Canadian LPs and because of political delays the US MSOs followed suit.
All of this was compounded by too many players, too much pot and hemp and too much uncertainty of the time they had to show a profit.
For most this isn't going to happen but I beleive that Canopy is ready to plant their flag in the US and with big brother Constellation and their power and finances will be standing in the winners circle when the smoke clears.
Acreage has most of what Canopy/Constellation is going to need for rapid set-up in the US and Constellation has fortified themselves with more complimentary acquisitions for what they want or need to put together under their umbrella, just like Canopy did in Canada but tailor-made for US soil.
Acreage has already been gutted but have planned for this future with Canopy and what they bring and at these values, seems to be the only thing that make sense for long time underwater Acreage Shareholders to get some of thier investments back.
Those Canopy shares are going to be in short supply when this comes to pass and after the conversion, rto or whatever you want to call it, whatever we get for our shares should gain some inspiration and appreciation from the Canopy shareprice rise that I forsee because all of the parts of this deal are good for investors and big brother Constellation who will be controlling things have a history of making money, building shareprice and paying dividends.
And there will be no more grinding on Acreage shares because they will now be Canopy Growth USA division.
