RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Short Sell Report Jan 1-15 2023IIROC's new position on naked shorting is that one must have a "reasonable expectation that they will have access to sufficient securities to settle" when they enter a short position without actually owning the shares. So what constitutes "reasonable expectation?" I doubt anyone knows that yet, I suspect it is up to the courts to decide if and when it comes to that. So in other words, naked shorting is still fair game in Canada. And those who use these flimsy rules to their advantage are not the pigs, those who make it legal are. Naked shorting has made mining more expensive in Canada, which in turn has made products that use minerals more expensive for all consumers. Jmho
