RE:RE:RE:RE:Top US Official Hails Nord Stream 2 Sabotage In Testimony Look, I'm a supporter of TCF, just as you are. That's why I'm here.
It is not my desire that this discussion board be politicized any more than it has already been.
But when someone calls for an elected foreign government to be removed "in military fashion", that ought to be responded to.
I have actually been following this Ukraine situation very closely.
The USA backed the 2014 Maidan Revolution. See Oliver Stone's excellent documentary report "Revealing Ukraine" which contains his interview of Viktor Medvedchuk, and can be found on YouTube, It contains plenty of video footage of how Ukraine's internal politics have been interfered with. Remember, the US has an official policy to "weaken Russia" as the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin described it. That policy is a throw over from the cold war period and it suits the interests of US multinational corporations as well as Western elites (many of them not having been elected).
It is a fact that the Ukraine took a turn towards ultranationalism and outlawed the expression of the Russian language and culture. Tanks were sent into the Donbass region, and protesting citizens were killed. Over the past eight years thousands of citizens have been killed by Ukrainian shelling of civilan centers. Donetsk is still being shelled on a daily basis. These are not military targets being bombed, but rather hospitals and schools. The Ukraine has also dropped thousands of petal mines upon the civilian population of Donetsk. It would be absurd to claim that Russia is bombing and mining a civilian centre that they have captured. See the Donbass Devushka Telegram channel for video proof of these attacks on civilians. It includes footage of children that have been maimed and killed.
A third area that anyone who wishes to be informed is Stepan Bandera, the WW2 collaborator of the fascist invaders (you know, the ones that Canada, USA, Britain, Russia and the rest of the Allied powers fought against). Bandera publicly called for the genocide of Jews, Poles, and ethnic Russians ahortly before hundreds of thousands of them were murdered in a hateful frenzy by Western Ukrainians. Today he is viewed as some sort of national hero in Western Ukraine. There are torchlit paramilitary-style processions through the streets that look earily similar to those of the rallies of the brownshirts and SS in pre-war Germany, including the modern day reuse of some of the exact same symbols. A simple YouTube search of Stepan Bandera or the Azov Battalion will reveal plenty of proof regarding this concerning resurgence of expressions of fascism on a widespread scale in Ukraine. There are reports by mainstream organizations such as the BBC that provide visual documentation of this resurgence of fascist expression.
So, I am willing to leave it at that. Or we could publicly discuss these issues in further detail, and I will continue to supply authoritative sources. I didn't start this thread. I just don't tolerate calls for violence against individuals or a nation's elected givernment officials.
