What Is DOCSIS?
DOCSIS stands for Data Over Cable Services Interface Specification. Since that’s a mouthful, we prefer saying “dok-sis." Basically, DOCSIS is an international telecommunications standard that lets cable television operators add high-speed and telephony data to their current cable TV systems.
Cable subscribers can save money in the long term by purchasing a cable modem that supports DOCSIS, rather than renting one, since most cable operators use DOCSIS.
