QNX at work

Microkernel Reliability

The QNX Neutrino RTOS microkernel isolates every application, driver, protocol stack and filesystem in its own address space outside the kernel. A failed component won’t take down other components or the kernel; it can be restarted immediately, with minimal impact on performance.

  • Add new hardware or drivers, confident a driver failure won’t result in a system failure.
  • A high-availability manager can perform multistage recovery when services or processes fail.
  • Our architecture enabled us to safety-certify QNX® OS for Safety, so you can focus on what you build—not the OS you built it on.
I suspect the QNX kernel and layers dependant in the BlackBerry ecosystem will be upgraded early 2024

Everything layered on to the product require access via a software key, I assume OTA is included with the product, whether it is activated in all licensing instances is a question... we see the likes of Ford and GM currently building new distribution models.

the ceo's inability to monetize this necessary technology is mind numbing.

As technology steps from mechanical to electronic, where the failure of electronics has a greater chance to completely shut down the process looms larger than ever before.

Where is the ROi, who's paying for the developed technology man hours.
