It's easy to see where your arrogance comes from Tom. Commercial pilots are peons just moving people around, circling the drain as you said. If you drive a Bentley or a Lincoln town car to chauffeur people does it really make much of a difference? Turns more heads then a $40k Harley lol. You see it around you but it's out of reach.
