SAGE Looking to Become One of America's Top Potash Producer Potash is an essential crop nutrient used in agriculture, yet the USA, which has a massive agricultural industry, imports approximately 94% of its potash. If domestic potash production were to increase in the US it could both help control pricing and greatly improve America's supply chain security.
As detailed in the InvestorIntel article below, Sage Potash Corp.(SAGE.v) is developing the Sage Plain Potash Property with the intention of becoming a prominent domestic U.S. potash producer.
Sage Plain is located in Utah's Paradox Basin, which is known to host extensive high-quality potash, approximately 2 billion tons of it according to the US Geological survey.
SAGE plans to use sustainable mining practices to produce potash, including optimal temperature for solution mining and mechanical evaporation, which reduces water consumption and land footprint. As the article highlights, solution mining and mechanical evaporation should lower capital expenses and operating expenses for SAGE relative to conventional potash operations.
The company has a short-term timeline to initial production of just 1-2 years. SAGE also believes that it will have the ability to expand production from 50,000 to 150,000 tons per year for 20 years.
To progress toward its production goal, SAGE has partnered with RESPEC Company LLC, a leader in potash solution mining consulting and engineering, to undertake the Phase One program at the Sage Plain Project. This program will include drilling a step-out geological hole, (the Sage 1 Well), a water brine supply well, and a disposal well, as well as preparing a PEA technical report for the project.
