The US is entirely dependent on potash imports Potash is a vital comports in fertilizers as it is a potassium-rich compound with the ability to boost crop yields and balance crop productivity, however, given the current sanctions against Russia and Belarus (which together constitute 40% of the world's potash supply), the US currently imports nearly all its annual potash requirements from Canada. Having its own domestic supply is critical to the food security of the US.
Sage Potash (SAGE.v) is one company seeking to address supply chain security and sustainability with its focus on domestic US production of potash with over 88,000 acres of mineral leases and permit applications.
On track to achieve a short-timeline to its initial pilot plant production in 1-2 years, SAGE is using sustainable mining practices to initially produce 50,000 tonnes per year, then scaling up to 150,000 tonnes per year for 20 years.
SAGE is strongly positioned to satisfy a significant portion of US potash demands by delivering a secure line of supply with its large-scale, high-grade potash resource due to its extensive resource located in Utah's Paradox Basin which is known to host extensive underdeveloped world-class potash resources,
