Weekly Stats And Catch Up For The Last 3 MonthsYep, it's been a while since I published the weekly stats. I got a personal project that drove me aside during that time and I would say that it was beneficial to stay away from the day-to-day business, including the stock markets.
A lot of things happened though, with many NRs published by the company with about one every week in June:
- $6.688M financing closed
- Consolidation of land package getting the majority of the Goldboro district, delay of permit works and mine construction, and decision to focus on exploration.
- Nomination of George J. Furey as Chair of the BoD
- Selling of Point-Rousse to MAE for $3M in ca$h and 24M shares
- 2nd drill to extend drilling campaign at Goldboro to 12k meters to demonstrate the potential scale of the deposit
- Extends Ground Geophysical Survey to the West of the Goldboro Deposit
I have a couple of comments regarding the above announcements: it's great to have consolidated "The Beast" nest and around and send the message that we are now focusing on exploring west. This might be the only way remaining to fight against the Lassonde Curve "Orphan Period" since it seems they have tough times in building a financing package. Words are that they have difficulties with the equity part of the package. The market is still yawning at the gold junior sector and it's pretty bad for us. My question for mangement is "Did they look at other solutions, like streaming and royalty financing?" It might do the trick.
Also, getting rid of Point-Rousse was a good thing as we will not need to pay for care and maintenance operations anymore. Now, getting 24M shares of Maritime Resources + 3M in ca$h for it is not a lot... and our position in MAE will already be diluted as MAE announced this week that they intend to raise the $3M they need to pay for the acquisition by adding 75M shares to their float. What a mess this saga is... if they would have merged at the first place, I think shareholders of both companies would have been healtier... (sigh)
I like the exploration focus by adding a drill and doing geophysical survey west. Let's get some juicy results to get the attention of some big players.
As for the stats, well they are not good at all. The highest weekly volume was from the last week of May and all of June with a sell-off down to 20 cents. We got back some of the drop in July. Gold lost some of it lust during that period and so did the minors globally.
