Art Halleran, the "failure" everyone should aspire to beYes, Art's quite the "failure". Let's see......
1. Picks up a gas play with massive proven reserves and
all the infrastructure in place for pennies on the dollar.
Yessir, sounds like a "failure" to me from the git-go.
( har, de-har-har-har! and -HAR! )
2. Proceeds to drill 6 consecutive successful wells using one
of the most challenging drilling techniques currently used:
long-reach directional... Wow! if that isn't a "failure" I've
never seen one!
( har, de-har-har-har! and -HAR! )
3. Discovers 3 of the wells ( Guluc-2, Bayhanli-2, and now
Alapli-2 ) are so successful they overwhelm the other 3
Yeah, that's got be a "failure" for sure. Never mind it's
just a matter of producing from those three monsters at
10-12 Mmcf each ( which all three are capable of doing
based on their tests ). But no question it's a "failure". Oh,
and did I mention it's a "failure" enough times? Yeah, there's
no way they'll solve this simple well-balancing problem.
Such a nice problem to have, but never mind, it's another
one of Art's many "failures".
( har, de-har-har-har! and -HAR! )
4. The next Art "failure" is, of course, attracting the attention of
a natural gas trading company with over $100 billion in revenue
who want to be partners in developing a CBM project in
Bulgaria. My God! Did no one tell "trading partner" or Bulgaria
what an abysmal "failure" Art is, after all he only turned Canacol
into one of the Success Stories of the first decade of this century.
( har, de-har-har-har! and -HAR! )
5. And finally, Art's latest "failure" is attracting a Turkish company
with three oil blocks surrounded by current production and who
want a technically-competent, proven partner to develop it for
them. Sure sounds like a job for Trillion, but no it's just another
spectacular Art "failure".
( har, de-har-har-har! and -HAR! )
I'm sure this won't be Art's last "failure". Everyone should "fail"
the way Art has. His vocal critics may have done so, and are
now seething with envy, as another contributor suggests. Very
reminiscent of Iago's envy of Othello in Shakespeare's epic tale.
Verdi, too.
