Just in: Excellent News!!!Volta Grande Project has approval from the Archaeological Studies and Heritage Education Program of its area of influence
In addition to mineral research activities, Belo Sun invested resources in the archaeological prospecting and rescue of several sites located in the areas of influence of the Volta Grande Project (PVG).
In the midst of PVG's environmental impact studies, archaeological research began in 2011 by Inside Consultoria Cientfica. Once the archaeological potential of the project area was identified, studies continued in 2012 within the scope of the Archaeological Studies and Heritage Education Program project, the execution of which was previously authorized by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN). It is worth mentioning that the research had the support of the Center for Research and Archaeological Studies of the Federal University of Para and the Denise Schaan Archeology Laboratory - LADS as a custodian institution.
The Archaeological Studies Program and IPHAN concluded that the project is authorized to carry out works, considering that the project will not compromise the cultural and historical heritage of the region. The favorable opinion was well received as since 2014, the company has been working hard to meet the conditions and studies required by the Heritage Institute.
Iphan's actions are essential so that projects do not cause damage or destroy protected cultural assets. The approval represents yet another step towards obtaining the necessary licenses for its installation.
All archaeological collections found in the areas of influence of the Volta Grande Project are housed in the Archeology Technical Reserve of the Federal University of Para in Belem.
