RE:RE:RE:RE:Completed Sale of BioSteel Business T.WeedWhen that $6 billion STZ cash influx showed up was about the time that Linton exited the stage.
He wanted to keep the ball rolling and that deal with STZ was a great move for Canopy and the start of the greenrush. It woke up investors and Canada benefited most from the greenrush but some MSOs also got respect because of it.\
Everybody overpaid for pot assets during the crazy times and that is what they were. Any stock with the name pot in it got shareprice appreciation based on irrational exuberance.
Team Klein took the reigns as they ushered Linton out and the rules changed to a return on investment, normal accounting assessment which was a far cry from the crazy prices that investors were willing to pay to play.
There are opposing views of what Canopy brings to the table and that can be orchestrated by marketmakers.
Canopy has been hit hard because the new leadership seems to be honouring the creditor STZ lending more than the Canopy shareholders.
Klein is burning the furniture to keep the house warm and there isn't much more to liquidate to keep hope in investor's minds.
One good honest nr of where his loyalty really is, would imho, be enough to double the shareprice if he is really taking care of Canopy shareholders.
The consolidation proposal is smart business for STZ shareholders but sudden death that will leave Canopy and Acreage shareholders with empty pockets.
If Klein really intends to save Canopy and complete the Acreage deal, these shareholders will hopefully see black ink or shareprice improvement and STZ being the largest shareholder and also a shareholder of Acreage will also benefit.
I have never had a consolidation that I was invested in, turn around. To me, they are the final last straw play before the liquidation of assets.
Pharma and beverages have a good history of high returns and rapid turnover and Canopy could be both, in the right hands.\
It is tough to break in and launch a whole new competitive line agains biggie, well established GatorAde and PowerAde.
Probably not Team Klein's smartest move!
