RE:RE:RE:AB LARGEST GENERATING UNIT (NG): Shepard COMBINED CYCLE GT One of the largest facilities constructed in Alberta in the last decade, the Hanlan-Robb gas processing plant project, operated by Gulf Canada Resources Inc. on behalf of 17 partners, currently is being precommissioned. The plant and field facilities are ca 45 miles southwest of Edson. The plant site is ca 7 miles east of Robb, NE2 and SE11-49-20W5. The plant is designed to process 300 MMcfd of raw gas from 17 wells in 5 different pools to produce 225 MMcfd of sales gas, 1,100 lt/d of sulfur and 200 bpd of condensate. Composition varies in the 5 pools, with H/sub 2/S from one to 23 mole % and CO/sub 2/ from 1.5 to 11.6%. With the exception of one pool, the gas may be considered hydrocarbon liquid dry. The producing fields are in an area ca 30 by 40 miles, with 100 miles of sour gas gathering pipelines. The project facilities were constructed in 18 mo. to mechanical completion. This was achieved in spite of strikes/walkouts which impacted the construction schedule by 3 mo. The original budget was $255 million and costs will be within 10% of budget. Project economics was based on short-term sales contracts rather than extended agreements typical in gas sales.
Pieridae Energy owns this asset now . X Gulf Canada / Petro Canada
Also this plant is south from the new Cascade power project which is in Peyto country . A good day reading ! BCRNW
