Sorry to contredits you, but the typical sintering temp of iron ore varies between 1150-1235 CELCIUS. It increases with the ore purity.
It also depends on the pO2 ( oxygen partial pressure).
This is why proper sintering with air plasma is not as simple as it looks, which, let alone the temperature itself which must be uniform across the entire bed, which as you say is quite large. This can only be achieved with very large air flow. Which plasma torches alone cannot supply. At best, conventional fuel or gas burner cannot be entirely eliminated. But the worst problem with air plasma is the NOx formation, acknowledged by IOC RioTinto in Quebec.
