It took quite a while to get this bad globally. I am thinking it will be a long period of shakeout with the way Indonesia has flooded the market with low cost nickel, while China's demand seems to be wobbling immensly. Long (long) term it will bode well but I think in the 1 - 2 year timeframe we're looking at nickel as a commodity that will be under pricing pressure.

Sherritt follows nickel prices up and down closely sad to say.
