I'm not a mind reader, I can only read what you type, bud.
"if we did not sell our oil to our American neighbours(about 20% per year)"
The tolls recently announced by the regulator for the TMX pipeline will be 11 dollars a barrel. How much do you think the tolls would be for a pipeline (pipedream) at least 4 times as long and built through the hard rock of the canadian shield would be? Assuming of course that you could find somebody to put up the cash to build it (good luck on that one). Ottawa already built you a pipeline to the west and Canadian taxpayers aren't going to build you another one.
The only reason the EE pipeline idea was ever floated was because the Mainline became unprofitable after cheap US gas flooded the Canadian eastern market. AB gas became uncompetitive, volumes dropped and the mainline became a money loser for TC Energy (formerly Trans Canada Pipelines).
Tolls were later dropped by the regulator making AB gas competitive again, the pipe filled up again and the Mainline was profitable again.
But tell me please, if the Mainline would have been converterted to carry oil....what the heck would AB have done with all the gas it produces??? Because the price would have gone negative in that scenario. Just flare it???
