RE:Oil or Tar Sands should be out-lawed
I suggest you read Roger Pelkies article from back in Sept 2019 about what would need to be done to reach net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. Long story short is the world is going to need oil, nat gas and coal for a lot longer than anyone wants to admit to. Despite dips in all three because of COVID shutdowns, they are now at record highs for consumption. I watched an episode with Catherine Anne Murray and Eric about a year ago and she mentioned something shed read about how they were forecasting 1 to 1.5 billion people from third world countries who would be switching from using wood and animal dung for cooking to cleaner sources of energy by 2050. Whatever you think about oil sands is irrelevant. The practical reality is that the world will run on oil until at least the end of this century.
