RE:RE:RE:RE:FL vs CREIt is dangerous to make equations... but I can't help it.
We also had an early dance partner. Granted, they were not slow dancing... but they were dancing.
It is not equivalent because it was a very different time and things were just starting to climb up the hill toward "exciting". But we all remember the MOU with HELM. Those who have been here. It was supposed to be a big deal with lots of promise for what was to come.
Then time dragged on. And dragged. Boring. "What the heck is going on...". Then after a while that arrangement turned into a "walk-away" situation, and it hase become pretty common to hear Eric mention that MOUs were not really worth the paper they were written on. Your MONEY is what matters...not your Memorandum signature.
It could very well have been that HELM didn't want to stick around for the very long waltz that was the permit processes. The many many steps to get anywhere. They maybe actually thought it would be like and Australian fast sprint. No such thing in Canada. There is a process for a reason. Social license... environmental license...
And for FL, if they try to rush... and they cut corners... or they try to smooth off rough edges without the social license to do so then the environmental, social, indigenous... you name it .... hammers will come down on them.
If they try to force things to go fast, those being rushed will likely press harder on the brake.
So time will tell. But CRE has had a lot of time spent in the waiting room getting the paperwork sorted and certified and approved.
It hasn't been sexy and shiny marketing stuff. But hopefully it means that when things hit the road, there is all sorts of smoke because the wheels are already spinning fast.
At least that is how my Monday AM perspective is playing out.
