Clarity on Taseko All of the "regulars" on this BB know our little trio investment group loves Taseko. It has done very well for us and it has an extremely bright future. Our good friend Slewy is correct that Taseko's Q1 results are likely to be favorable with Q2 also having a chance of being strong, depending on the events of the next few months. H2 is a different story as their scheduled projects will negatively impact production. Management has been straight forward with this information. Just ask yourself what will be the catalyst of higher share prices. Remember, they have pushed back first production at Florence to 2025 Q4. Lower 2024 Q3 and Q4 statements obviously fall within that period. Markets often have knee jerk reactions to lower production reports....even when management made clear what was happening. Maybe, just maybe, management pushed back the initial production date at Florence with the objective of surprising to the early side. While possible, wouldn't want to bank on that. Lots of negative stuff can happen from 2024 Q2 to 2025 Q4, such as a major market correction or unexpected problems during construction. Our main point? Big cash, company changing big cash, won't be coming on the books until the beginning of 2026. It could be a bumpy ride from Q2/3 2024 to Q1 2026. Positive updates from Florence nearing a successful completion in H2 of 2025 will certainly help along the way but the BIG $$ investors might not start jumping in until late next year. As we've said, a lot can happen between now and then.
Sooooo, bottom line and wrapping up! Most people here are sitting with a nice profit. Don't feel anxious about taking that profit within the next few months and come back later in H2 of next year, reassessing where things sit then. Something to ponder.
