True North Commercial Real Estate Investment Trust (the REIT) is a Canada-based unincorporated, open-ended real estate investment trust. The REIT is primarily focused on creating value for unitholders through the investment in and ownership of commercial properties in Canada. I would much rather them buy back shares with a coupon of plus 20 per cent vs. Repaying debt at much less than half that. 

However, whether DD is teaching the market a lesson or the other way around remains to be seen!
