TODAY: DV Commences 2024 Drilling Program Today, Dolly Varden Silver (Ticker: DV.v or DOLLF for US investors) announced that it has officially launched its 2024 Exploration Drill Program at the 100% owned Kitsault Valley Project. The company has mobilized three drill rigs to test exploration targets at the Moose Vein, Chance Vein, and the North Star Deposit step out. This program aims to discover new mineral deposits and expand on high-grade silver mineralization found in the 2023 drilling efforts.
The 2024 drilling program plans to cover 25,000 meters, with drill meterage divided equally between the Kitsault Valley Project's Dolly Varden and the Homestake Ridge Properties. The overall project is split among the Homestake Silver deposit, the Wolf deposit area, and various project-wide exploration targets with discovery potential.
Exploration Targets:
Moose Vein: Located 1.5 kilometers north of the Wolf vein, this site will target down plunge mineralization trending towards and below mid-valley sedimentary cover rock. Previous drilling in 2023 intersected high-grade silver, including 712 g/t Ag over 1.00 meter within a wider interval of 269 g/t Ag over 7.55 meters.
Chance Vein: Situated within the lower Hazelton Formation, just above the Stuhini Formation, this site will test the down plunge projection of a previously identified high-grade silver zone. Previous results included 488 g/t Ag over 26.50 meters, with a notable intersection of 1,044 g/t Ag over 5.60 meters.
North Star Deposit Step Out: The third drill focuses on step-out drilling to the west of the North Star deposit, which is part of the current mineral resource estimate. The target area is believed to be an extension of the Torbrit Horizon, a significant silver resource area on the Dolly Varden portion of the Project. Previous drilling results included 345 g/t Ag over 7.45 meters and 1,510 g/t Ag over 0.58 meters.
Dolly Varden Silver's CEO, Shawn Khunkhun, expressed enthusiasm about the early start of this year's drilling program. "With drilling already underway, our 25,000 meter program is the earliest startup for any season for Dolly Varden Silver. We look forward to building on resource expansion and high-grade mineralization discovered during the 2023 program. We are excited to continue to grow the premier advanced silver project in Canada, backed by our strong corporate, institutional, and strategic investors."
Dolly Varden's efforts underscore its commitment to expanding its resource base and discovering new high-grade silver deposits. The company is optimistic about the potential of these exploration targets to contribute significantly to the advancement of the Kitsault Valley Project.
