RE:RE:RE:BPO Prefs....Another Storm Brewing?Hi Carena.

Indeed, maybe rate relief will be cause for caution, not optimism.  Sigh.

I would take the other side -- there are all sorts of taxable investors with massive gains on something where they have to weigh the tax hit now versus a higher whack in the future.

Two examples of gains that have come fast, lots of holders are in the same tax boat, and may not been core holdings:

BAM -- they butterflied out ACB at 12% of BN cost.  If you aren't wanting to roll with BAM, you're selling this week.

CWB -- if you don't want to wait 1.5 years for completion, you're selling this week.

Maybe I'm just rationalizing lol.

ON BPO, someone at TD has been offering big on a number of series over the past couple of weeks.  27k offered on the Es right now, which are second only to the Cs on terms and can be had for less than the As right now!

I think you own the Es.  These are the shares I'll be holding long-term.  I have a lot, but might be too cheap to resist.

I am wondering whether these are spoof bids -- pretend to want to sell when you really want to push the price lower to buy.  Hmmm.

Yes please NCIB!
