RE:RE:Innovate or be Irrelevant (Houston we have problem). I did take the opportunity to quick scan through some recent legislation and see that some of the mining and smelting that used to happen here has either been shuttered or gone off shore. China now does a lot of smelting, no surprise.
As for solar on roofs I have my own reservations and to finance something for a longer term that the product lasts (or the roof membrane) makes me wonder. As an aside one of the best movies in my opinion about door to door sales is "Tin Men". LOL
Back to Hecla, the more and more I look at stock performance by Hecla it appears (as you mentioned) that is definately has a cycle ( notwithstanding 20 an oz with - net or 30 an oz breakeven) and is quite possibly well controlled. Nothing weird the shorts and longs on different exchanges are just business as usual and why let reatil in if the model works (for them).
In hindsight another view of Keno Hill in the case of AXU/AXR is that Clynt had proven enough resources and had done enough development (financial issues aside) to interest Hecla. Bad for shareholders but great (we'll see) for Hecla. And while they where at it they snarfed up ATAC, sort of a strange move but why not?
Are SNAG and MMG looking at Hecla (IMO) as a suitor ? Who knows. But I'm not going to invest in either because they are like mine incubators and if Hecla doesn't approach them why would I?
Now I find the recent new Golden Triangle indigenous Nation Royality listing interesting as Hecla has interests in the area. But note that DV was not in the initial list. Interesting? 'A fresh royalty company, Nations Royalty Corp (TSXV: NRC) is set to begin trading this morning on the TSX Venture. The venture aims to provide a means for investors to capitalize on what it calls the last untapped royalty space – royalties granted to First Nations groups under Benefit Agreements.
The aim of the new streamer is to offer a means for First Nations and Indigenous groups to monetize royalties, income and commodity streams, and annual benefit payment entitlements that they have obtained from resource projects.
The company’s initial assets include five royalties under four agreements entered into by the Nisga’a Nation, a major shareholder of the entity. Highlights of its assets, all of which are located in B.C.’s Golden Triangle....:' See link.
"Giustra, who founded Lions Gate Entertainment (Fahrenheit 9/11,The Hunger Games) and helped start Wheaton Precious Metals (TSX: WPM, NYSE: WPM; LSE: WPM) and Endeavour Mining (TSX: EDV; LSE: EDV), is helping Nations Royalty expand its investments."
