Regardless, these tariff threats are designed to renegotiate the USMCA as Trump does not want to wait till 2026, when the agreement is up for discussion again.
Sounds like they made a lousy deal on the auto end as many euro cars come into the US from Mexico and US auto industry suffering.
You really think he's going to put a 25% tariff on 4.3M bbls/day of Oil that Canada sends in?
The price of gas would go through the roof!
Where would they replace that supply from?
And american energy companies are not going to drill like crazy as he claims with low oil prices.
Their costs are not going down and worldwide demand is not there for more oil, so prices would just go even lower.
Is he going to subsidize everything?  Delusional.
