excuse my ignorance...

excuse my ignorance...but who is Alex (he is powerless now?... me thinks) and why is he so important? What I can gather is that he was the last CEO and CFO, that he has resigned, and was then put onto the board of directors.... but not recommended for re-election.... due to some special audit... he was also given a big chunk of cash 3.5 million? sorry for my potentially dumb question but I just started looking at this company.
