Tenke Raises $8.25 Million in Bought Deal Private Placement
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UNITED STATES
NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES.
Tenke Mining Corp. (the "Company") announces that it has agreed to sell to
a syndicate of underwriters led by GMP Securities Ltd. and including
Dundee Securities Inc. and Pacific International Securities Inc., on a
"bought deal" basis, 3.0 million common shares of the Company by way of
private placement at Cdn$2.75 per common share for aggregate proceeds of
$8.25 million. The Company has also given the underwriters an option to
purchase an additional 1.0 million common shares of the Company at
Cdn$2.75 until closing potentially raising up to $11.0 million. The
private placement is subject to regulatory approval.
Net proceeds of the private placement will be used towards its copper/gold
exploration programs in Argentina as well as for general working capital
purposes.
Tenke has an extensive land package in Argentina encompassing over 958,000
hectares covering key prospective gold and base metal regions in the
country. The 2004 exploration programs will focus on the Batidero,
Lirio-Josemaria and Vicuna group of copper/gold projects in northwest San
Juan province.
The Company's Tenke Fungurume copper-cobalt deposits comprise one of the
world's largest known copper-cobalt resources and are capable of being
developed into a large scale, long-life mine demonstrating low operating
costs. The deposits, containing extensive high-grade mineralization, are
located within two concessions totaling 1,437 square kilometres in Katanga
Province, Democratic Republic of Congo ("DRC").
