RE: WDB Report ... resource will change
RE: WDB Report ... resource will changeWDB mentions that these are "robust" gold-equivalent grades for an open-pit mining operation, but the ultimate economics will depend on the capital costs of building and running an open-pit mine and flotation plant in a sub-Arctic environment.
Keep in mind also that Voisey does NOT have their plant next to the mine (where it SHOULD be) because of promises to the NF govt to put it on the Nfld island rather than in Labrador... thus the increased costs.
WDB also states in the report that it's premature to calculate a value for a possible open-pit mining operation, as the resource and ultimate pit design will change significantly once the footwall mineralisation is included and new massive sulphide resources are calculated from the 13,000m of 2004 Phase I drilling.
There is currently no value given to the Low Sulphide mineralisation, where preliminary metallurgical test work shows that Pt and Pd should be amenable to gravity concentration. Maybe this is where the value would increase???
Cheers.
