Canadian Press -- The former owner of the Ottawa Senators, Rod Bryden, has struck a deal to pay only $600,000 of the nearly $100-million he had guaranteed creditors and investors of the National Hockey League club and its arena. The agreement, which Bryden had proposed to avoid personal bankruptcy, requires court ratification.

Former Ottawa Senators owner Rod Bryden has filed for a form of bankruptcy protection in order to eliminate $59-million in personal debt.
The debt stems largely from personal guarantees Bryden and his companies made on loans incurred by the Senators and the Corel Centre.
