Maying (China) Gold Project Advances
11:27 EST Tuesday, December 14, 2004
Stellar Pacific Ventures inc received provincial general business
approval for Maying Gold Mine Project development.
LAVAL, Dec. 14 /CNW Telbec/ - Stellar Pacific Ventures inc was advised that its Chinese working partner has been granted general business approval by the Province of Henan, China for development of the Maying Gold Project.
This approval will facilitate the transfer of the mining permit to the new joint venture corporation which will be named "Henan Luoning Jinma Gold Mines Ltd." and will be owned equally by the Company and its partner, Tearlach Resources Inc.(TEA)
The Company is planning an early start to exploration of the main shear zone on the southern portion of the 14.2 sq. kilometer mining license. A 3,500 meter long baseline with 200 meter interval cross lines will be established to provide control for 35 proposed trenches of 50 meters length (1,700 meters) which will be channel sampled for gold and other minerals. The shear zone is known to carry gold mineralization at operating gold mines on both ends of its 35 kilometer (21 mile) length. The volume of rock in the portion of the steeply dipping shear zone lying within the mining license exceeds 60 million tons to 300 meters of depth. The object of the exploration program will be to determine how much of that volume contains economic gold values.
The trenching program will be started in the next month and should be able to progress through the winter as the area is characterized by low precipitation and relatively warm (0 to minus 5 degrees Centigrade) temperatures.
At the same time as the trenching is being carried out, a number of drilling sites along the length of the main shear will be identified and hand labour will be used to prepare the sites for drilling in 2005. Drilling will be first done under the best trench results to test for downwards continuity. Currently, estimated meters to be drilled will be 2,000m. A second phase of drilling will be dependent upon first phase results.
A field trip is proposed for early December, to organize the trenching and sampling program and to conduct further evaluation of recent developments on the mineralized cross cut that runs vertically across the shear zone on the east side of the property.
