Mr. Guilford Brett reports
PACIFIC BAY FILES CLAIMS IN EMERGING CERRO SOLO PATAGONIA URANIUM BASIN PLAY
Consolidated Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. has filed for three exploration permits totalling 300 square kilometres in an emerging uranium basin play in the Cerro Solo area of central Patagonia. These 10-kilometre by 10-kilometre exploration blocks cover a key part of the Cretaceous-age sedimentary basin and lie along the inferred east-west trend of paleochannels that tend to host uranium mineralization in this area.
George Sanders, MSc, PGeo, vice-president for Argentina operations, said the decision to apply for this new ground was based on its favourable geology and its proximity to the Cerro Solo, Cerro Condor and Los Adobes uranium deposits. Staking activity has heated up substantially in this area in recent months based around the known uranium deposits that were discovered by the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) in the 1960s and 1970s as a result of regional geological and geophysical exploration. "We knew of the east-west trend of paleochannels hosting uranium mineralization in the basin, and we were able to stake these three large claims in a key position along this east-west trend where we consider the discovery potential to be high."
The known uranium deposits in the vicinity of PacBay's claims lie within the San Jorge basin and are hosted by continental fluvial and lacustrine sediments, with a strong volcanic component belonging to the Chubut group of Cretaceous age. Previous studies of the area have shown that epigenetic uranium mineralization is present in multiple stratigraphic horizons, and the PacBay claims cover potential mineralization in both coarse sandstones and conglomerates of the Los Adobes formation, and in tuffs and volcaniclastics of the overlying Cerro Barcino formation.
The company has expressed its interest in working with the technical team belonging to the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) to tap into its expertise in exploring this basin in order to rapidly develop uranium drill targets on this claim block.
George Sanders, MSc, PGeo, vice-president of Argentina operations, is the qualified person under National Instrument 43-101 for this exploration program.
The company has also arranged a private placement of 200,000 units at 11 cents per unit, each unit consisting of one common share and one warrant to acquire an additional common share at a price of 15 cents for a period of one year, subject to regulatory approval. The proceeds of $22,000 will be added to working capital.

I had to have a password they had given me way back in 99 GOOD READ on a NEW TECH now older and more established TECH: along with CHIP samples at mutlti OUNCE per ton ...and channels of trailing ions ...for targeting, can anyone with a shot gun say PULL!

Mobile Metal Ion (MMI) Geochemistry is an advanced surface exploration technique for finding mineral deposits.
If your company is serious about its mineral exploration then MMI Geochemistry is the exploration tool for you.
Mining companies world wide are now using the MMI Technique to find gold, base metal and nickel mineralization and kimberlite intrusives. MMI is a powerful geochemical exploration tool that is enabling companies to explore areas that have been previously too difficult for surface geochemistry. MMI is a must for companies searching for the next generation of bigger, often concealed, ore deposits…..MMI will take your company to new limits in geochemical exploration!
The quest for new mineral discoveries is continually increasing. With a majority of the outcropping and shallow mineral deposits already discovered, exploration companies are now looking to explore areas with deep soil cover to discover newer and bigger hidden ore deposits. This often involves committing to large expensive and ‘risky’ drill programmes in the hope of striking it rich. Now with MMI, exploration professionals have a much better chance of success, with more precise drill hole targeting and without having to forego big dollars.
MMI Geochemistry is a cost effective surface exploration tool. The MMI Technique measures Mobile Metal Ions in surface soils. These mobile metal ions are released from ore bodies and travel upward toward the surface. Using sophisticated chemical processes and instrumentation, the MMI Technique is able to measure these ions, in surface soils, to determine accurately where buried mineralization is located.
