Green & Misinformed

Green & Gold posts to this Board are nonsensical. Let's look at some of his misguided conclusions:

1. The weather restricts mining in such extreme northern climates. Exploration continues in other more northerly geograohic areas. In a recent Economist article, they describe copper mining in Mongolia in temperatures of -40 degrees C. A great deal of investment is taking place on Baffin Island, in areas further north than AXI's Roche Bay.

2. G&G has mentioned on more than one occasion the excessive rents paid by AXI for their downtown premises. Renting in the old Simpson Tower is not premium space and certainly much cheaper than Scotia Plaza, First Canadian Place or other such locations.

3. He has argued that transportation costs, including shipping will be prohibitive without a clear understanding of all the factors.

Bottom-line, G&G likely posts to this Board under a variety of names and probably rates his own postings. In all likelihood he is being hired by competitor mining companies to undermine AXI's stock value.   It is very doubtful he owns stock in AXI. He should be ignored.

1) How many producing mines are there in Nunavut after decades of exploration and hundreds of millions in investment? One. How much oil and gas production is there in Nunavut, after decades of exploration and hundreds of millions of dollars invested? None, not one hydrocarbon of oil or gas has been produced in Nunavut. Those are all facts. The conclusion I draw from all those facts is that Nunavut ...more

The prospective copper mine in Mongolia that Old Guy mentions is Ivanhoe Mines' Oyu Tolgoi, which is the largest undeveloped copper/gold project on the planet. 81 billion pounds of copper and 46 million ounces of gold currently estimated, and growing. Because of the massive resource size and the strong mineralization grades, Oyu Tolgoi has attracted enough investment to develop the mine (now ...more

Also, the environmental conditions in Mongolia, weather and hours of daylight, are WAAAAAAY better than the conditions in Roche Bay, Nunavut. It's really not comparable. The work of drilling and building the Oyu Tolgoi mine goes on year-round. Roche Bay has a 4-month exploration season, as Gingerich has testified.
