The had $560mil in tax pools as per their last quarter MD&A... Tor approx $5.60 per share in tax pools. To an acquiror, those tax pools can sheidl about $140mil of income (at a 25% tax rate). So to a potential acquiror, it would be worth at least $1 per share.

How do you find this $1 per share ? ARN has 98M shares.....so $140M/98M = $1.43 per share.

Over and above the value of the company. So say $1.43 PLUS another $1.03 on todays price = $2.46 / share for take over price. For PBN this would average their 17% to about $1.53-good deal for them

Nobody, unless they are in trouble sells for the share price of the day. Or the $1.43. Usually a 30-100% increase on purchase price. Say on a bad day ARN sells to CP or PBN for $1.88-30% increase over your $1.43. Nothing wrong for $1.88 in todays market. Bad for CP though as they got in at $5.08 Even if it sold for 30% over todays price that is $1.35.....i'm happy
