Is it really necessary to post this information considering there is almost zero chance of them not paying out the usual dividend every month...hasn't changed from last month or the month before that and likely won't change next month, next year or likely 10 years from now....please post relevant information not meaningless stuff that we all know is going to happen.

Just bought and the settlement date was the 30th so does this mean I do receive the dividend?

NO, August 28 (August 26 due to the weekend) was the last day to own the stock and still get the dividend.  Take the date of record August 31 and subtract 3 days for settlement gives you a x-dividend date of Aug 29.Therefore sellers of AVF on Aug. 29 will get the dividend on September 15.  Hope this helps.

Ex-date is cute to work with. If record date is the 30th you can find ex-date on your broker's pages and on the TMX pages at: https://tmx.quotemedia.com Ex-date is the third business day prior to record date. When the record date is the 30th, during the week then the ex-date can be the 27th., but adds days over the weekends. We can buy the stock near the end of the 27th and sell it in the ...more

if anyone wants to double check they can go to globeinvestor.  under the "stocks" tab there is a drop down menu.  select "dividends" and it will tell you all the stocks going ex-dividend for the next two weeks.
