The recent Acrg nr
sounds like we are getting rid of some very expensive help with Murphy's departure.
Mulroney's too!
$13 million each to keep them around but I didn't see a pink slip for Boehner.
Also no mention of what the successors are going to drag out of Acreage coffers.
The first 3's renumeration for a company that rode their shareprice right into the ground is outrageous and I have no idea what Mulroney and Boehner did for Acreage other than endorse it.
The success of this Canopy/Acreage deal is critical to both companies and I am trying to figure out how we got our legs shot off at the knees. Was it by design by the involved parties or did we get a beatdown by the investment community.
STZ thinks this effort is going to come to fruition and don't seem to be backing off of investments that can be vended in, plus I believe they will secure any financing needed to keep this alive to the successor's circle. My guess is that they have between 7 and 10 billion of STZ money invested for all the spokes and hub to be Canopy USA. I don't think they will walk from that investment but continue to support it.
This merger is more important than US legalization right now imho and if it fails it will just be one more blackeye to all the major potpreneurs, especially the Canadian LPs.
US MSOs are managing profits by careful management to abide by the laws and rules as they are which is why International companies want to be in the US marketplace.
What STZ is putting together is going to carry some serious clout and we already know that their management style is to make money, build sharevalue and get some dividends to shareholders as well as be able to pass the test of normal business accounting principals. My guess is that there is a little more scrutiny going in to all of their latest purchases to acquire brands they like for Canopy USA.
