Sepsis continues to be the #1 complication causing death in COVID patients. By definition, sepsis involves live-threatening organ dysfunction caused by the patient’s dysregulated immune response to an infection. In COVID-19 sepsis, the body has a dysregulated immune response to the coronavirus, causing life-threatening dysfunction in the organs.
