EMPS Commences Summer Drilling Program in SE Saskatchewan Yesterday, EMP Metals Corp. (Ticker: EMPS.c or EMPPF for US investors), a Canadian-based lithium exploration and development company, announced that it has announced the commencement of its summer drilling program in Southeast Saskatchewan.
EMP Metals currently holds 196,000 net acres of Subsurface Dispositions and strategic wellbores in Southern Saskatchewan, and is focused on large-scale lithium resource development using direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology.
The ongoing summer drill program focuses on two well lithium drilling and testing aimed at delineating the original discovery in the Viewfield area, which is known for having the highest lithium concentrations recorded in Canadian brine to date.
The first of the two wells, a vertical well identified as “8-24,” has already been spud. This well is expected to take approximately one week to drill, followed by three weeks of completion and testing for brine concentration and flow rates.
The second well, labeled “4-23,” will be a one-mile horizontal well designed to confirm pressures, deliverability, and depletion of various target reservoir zones.

This data expected to be gathered from the drilling program will be critical for ongoing Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies, which are essential for the development of the project.
Rob Gamley, CEO of EMP Metals, expressed enthusiasm about the prospects identified within the drilling program, stating that it represents a significant step forward in the company’s exploration efforts.
He emphasized the importance of understanding the basin's lithium potential through the combination of horizontal and vertical drilling, which will further enhance the company’s resource base and contribute to the ongoing FEED study.
