Successful Completion of Vertical Well Test Today, EMP Metals (EMPS.c EMPPF) announced the successful completion of the first vertical well test (8.24) and commenced a 4-23 horizontal well in southeast Saskatchewan!
This first well aims to confirm lithium concentrations and define reservoir characteristics in the northern part of the Viewfield area.

Expansion with Horizontal Drilling
EMPS has additionally commenced drilling of its second well of the program, a horizontal well (4-23) targeting the Duperow formation, which is notable for several reasons:
- Pioneering Effort: Believed to be the first horizontal well for lithium brine extraction in Saskatchewan and possibly in North America or globally.
- Design Features: The well includes two parallel one-mile horizontal legs within the same high-concentration zone, targeting flow rates of approximately 1,000 cubic meters per day.
Anticipated Outcomes
- Completion Timeline: The horizontal well is expected to be completed within the next 7 days.
- Flow Testing: Site preparation for flow testing will follow the drilling completion.
- Data Updates: Initial results from the vertical well brine sampling are expected soon, with ongoing updates to be provided as more data becomes available.
