EMPS Spuds Third Lithium Well at Mansur

EMPS Spuds Third Lithium Well at Mansur

EMP Metals (EMPS.c EMPPF) Spuds Third Lithium Well at Mansur Project in Saskatchewan

Today, EMP Metals (EMPS.c EMPPF) announced that it has spud a third targeted lithium well, 1-29, at its Mansur project in Saskatchewan as part of its ongoing drill program.

Key Highlights

  • Third Well in the Area: Well 1-29 follows up on the previous two wells, which had lithium concentration results ranging from 96 mg/L to 148 mg/L.
  • Flow Rates: Flow testing showed results up to 528 m³/day.
  • Resource Delineation: The drilling aims to further define the lithium pool at Mansur, with the potential to establish it as a standalone, independently viable project.
  • Resource Reporting: Data from this well will contribute to an updated National Instrument 43-101 Resource Report which is already underway and is expected by Q4 2024.

Drilling Timeline

  • Duration: Drilling of the 1-29 well is expected to take about one week with results expected within 2-3 weeks after reaching target depth.
  • Testing: Brine concentration testing in the target formation will follow, taking an additional three weeks.

EMPS CEO Karl Kottmeier emphasized the benefits of the project, starting:

"We are excited to return to our Mansur project area, one of the highest concentration brines within Canada, to potentially further expand our resource. With previous lithium concentration testing from 96 mg/l to 148 mg/l, no H2S or oilfield contaminants in the brines, and a relatively shallow depth in the target formation, this project is expected to have significant competitive advantages, specifically reduced capital and operating costs per ton, as compared to other North American lithium brine projects."
