If he designed the 100 liter pilot plant (that's the size of a bath tub btw), they will certainly need his expertise to design a larger plant. You don't let your key employee go right when you are in the middle of a growth phase. 

He got named as a defendant in that lawsuit and not he is no longer working at the company.

Watch the other guy Fabricio Maia also leave the company shortly
