GW Pharma was just bought for $7B

GW has the third number of Cannabis patents. NL has the second most I Beleive.

yeah! was counting on GW getting bought out. You would be shocked how many LPs don't have any IP for Cannabis oil processing. When an industry consolidates IP becomes very important especially when there is success in litigation. Companies will be forced to go to extractors who have their own IP. Like I said before OILS is in the right space at the right time ;p

This is bigger then anyone of us can imagine. Owning a process seems frivolous, but thats what seperates an idea, from a gold mine. April 1st, .60 cents. Mark it.

Stockwatch take on the GW Pharma takeover and industry effects. "The S&P/TSX Cannabis Index shot up 23.48 to 283.93, while the CSE Composite Index added 24.59 to 868.14. The big news in the cannabis sector today involved a company that would not strictly consider itself a cannabis stock at all. GW Pharmaceuticals PLC (U:GWPH), which bills itself as a biotech company and a ...more

It would be helpful if we were mentioned in some independent pieces. Either way, Kronos should help improve our visibility with the players that matter.

Albeit OILS is payng Kronos for their services one question to ask is, "Did Oils approach Kronos or vice versa?" I see this in industry all the time in which somebody has the connection and approaches with the adage. "I have somebody interested in you. If you pay me a finders fee I can introduce you."

It means the acquirer is not concerned with Canopy suing GW for patent infringement.
Comment by Gotime2 on Feb 09, 2021 3:16pm
I'm sure you are right, jazz is not concerned with CO2 extraction patents. The value in GW Pharma is in their epilepsy drug patents. If canopy wins and GW can no longer extract using their CO2 equipment they could just hire a third-party extractor like next leaf
Comment by lscfa on Feb 09, 2021 4:53pm
Canopy will lose.   GW's assigned patent was first.    The problem with patents is you disclose to the world your formula and others can just tweek it to avoid infringement. That's why Valens and Medipharm both decided to go with the trade secrets route. (e.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken)   Canopy assigned patent What is claimed is:    1. A process for ...more

I am not an expert but neither is "Iscfa". You seem to cherry pick your revelevent information here. You need to read every line of the claims and not just a couple. The lower claim lines indicate anything less than 55 bar and any temperature below 20c. Too me that makes anything below these threshold levels as being "subcritical". And honestly do you seriously believe Canopy ...more

Also, Iscfa does seem to have some motivation for NL not to do well. He is/was an investor in LABS and was a frequent contributor to their board. A past NL investor and him used to argue a lot about which play was better. I think their is some bitterness still there after Labs had its fall. I am not saying that any company is good or bad - just that all people posting here have their specific ...more
