One thing i have learned since being invested is taking your profits when you can because management definetely will.  This managament is not looking out for the investors best interest.  They look after there own and that is it.  Look at the recent dump that caused that landslide in the share price.  Management does not hold any shares........... So they exercise some options when the price increased and them sold them on the open market. They did exactly what you said....took some profit. Those shares are now available to be traded and help give momentum and volume to price changes. The fact that there are so many options still available to them means that they can still exercise if price spikes, and still make hefty profits.
