Stop losses and trailing stops

Don't think that if you put in a stop loss for say $4.30 that you will be sold at $4.30 your sell order goes in at $4.30 as a maket order. If the market drops to $4.05 that is what you will get paid. On these volitile stocks they can swing heavily and be manipulated easily. There are traders out there waiting to pounce on your inexperience. If you want to sell put in a sell order at a set price and be done with it. You have control.

Hi Buckwheat, how are you? It depends what you say, here's why: If you have, let's say 1000 shares, and the sp is at 4.30 and you put your stop loss at 4.20. Than it will sale to the next buyer, let's say the next buyer, wants 500 shares at 4.15, than 500 of your shares will go to that buyer. Your other 500 shares will go to the next buyer, let's say at 4.13 is another buyer and ...more
