If Nord wants out as well you would assume their FS report would be out before PDAC so they could get flog the property. I don't trust these people but I found the connection between Guistra and IamGold interesting? When I invested I was counting on more than 1 company bidding and a fair price to shareholders. Who knows with theses Russians - can't be trusted.

Have been a shareholder for a long time, bought years ago for 0.30. Made some nice money here. Would you guys buy more now at 0.74? I'm very interested in your thouhgts!

I think the answer to your question lies in what you think the value of the company is today, and where you think they're going. If they sell the FG pit to Nordgold, that's one valuation. If they stay, build it out, funding their share along the way, that's another value. After the forthcoming release of the BFS, I believe Columbus has 3 months or so to announce their intentions as to ...more

As ukermann pointed out, there are many possible outcomes here. Right now the analysts of the world tend to feel the majors want to add reserves - with proven, low cost, ready to go assets. In this respect I feel we would be better positioned, and aligned, if Nord was open to a sale of their 55% as well. Perhaps Nord is going private and taking their marbles home to invest in the motherland. After ...more

I agree with the possible outcomes discussed but as a CBGDF shareholder I am hoping (praying) that Guistra is much more proactive/aggressive with this company and its resources. I agree that Nord will at some stage look to take out CBGDF in FG but having watched NG in their past dealings with Carlisle and Northquest I am also sure that they will go for a very lowball offer (rather looking at a ...more

123Buy, Good post. I fully agree Guistra would like to stay on the Explorer, Deal maker side. It's great that Nord doesn't participate in the surrounding claims and Columbus is fast tracking a decent drilling program. This can adding upside to a buyer of Columbus over Nord. Hopefully, we get an early bid for our 45% making any Nord games to buy up shares real expensive for a few months. As ...more

AltaR, Concur that 123Buy's post was exellen, thanks 123Buy for spend the time for a good piece. I have a question wrt your post which says: "It's great that Nord doesn't participate in the surrounding claims and Columbus is fast tracking a decent drilling program". Question: Where did you get this "fact" that Nord does not participate in this drilling? The 13 Feb ...more

Gold hunter11. Attached the article I was referring too. (paragraph 5 & 6) I've never read their mining JV Agreement but I'd expect a defined set of lands for Nord to earn their 55%. Very familiar with oil and gas standards for JV agreements but just learning this mining game. Who knows. Maybe they earn their way into that drilling as well, but I don't think so, without another ...more

AltaR, Thanks for the article. The two new claims, on the east and west side of the JV, appear to be separate from the deposit underneath the current JV (just like you,  I have not read the JV agreement). The ambiguity is the bit CGT was talking about testing the possibility of extension at depth (James Kwantes noted: "little drilling has been done below 250m at Montagne d'Or before ...more

Gold11: I saw a map in my web travels that showed at least one within the boundries or the existing deposit - down to 500m I believe. If I find it again, I'll post it.

AltaR: Found 2 maps in this NR (24 Jan 2017), link below. Are those the same you have seen? https://www.columbusgoldcorp.com/s/NewsReleases.asp?ReportID=776512&_Type=News-Releases&_Title=Columbus-Gold-Mobilizing-for-Exploration-Drilling-at-Montagne-dOr-Gold-Depo... - First map: Drill hole map, the one hole for testing the depth is hole 01, it's within the JV area. www.columbusgold ...more

Gold 11. Map 1, planned DDH - 01 location, within the deposit boundaries, formated in pink for 2016-2017 was the deep hole. Map, I think is the same one I saw. While for the longterm it is advantageous for both NORD and CGT to know what's deeper (assuming nord is part of that Deeper location ) I am somewhat perplexed as to why it could be a priority now. Obviously, we are missing some details ...more

123: Great post, you're points are well taken. To our benefit, the Canadian takeover rules have been amended to make hostile runs very difficult if the current management is not on board. That by itself can keep Nord at arm's length as the game has changed. Working against us is a major would not like to have to deal with two independent parties to bring one property together. To much risk ...more
