FARM BILL MIGHT BE DELAYED A COUPLE MORE WEEKS.

LESS PRESSURE TO FINISH THE FARM BILL THIS WEEK? House and Senate ag leaders have been pushing to release a conference report early this week, in order to pass the final legislation before Friday. The goal was to get the farm bill through Congress before funding for several agencies (including the Agriculture Department and FDA) expires on Friday, so the sprawling farm and food legislation wouldn't get caught up in any sort of government shutdown fight.

That timeline is now in flux. Congress will take time this week to honor the late former President George H.W. Bush, putting some legislative activities on hold. Republican leaders, in light of the 41st President's passing, are considering a short-term appropriations measure to delay the funding fight another week or two.

Funny another article states different?? This was from last week actually.  ALSO Crop does NOT rely on farm bill at all. It operates NOW in fully legal states. When bill passes through which it will it simply opens more doors. It is not a requirement what so ever for Crop.  YES it is a good thing WHEN it happens which it will. Could be voted on as early as today at 5pm as per article ...more

I read somewhere that due to G. Bush Sr's  passing that the farm bill will be postponed slightly (one to two weeks).  I didnt copy the text or link tho...sorry. that being said, I agree that farm bill won't make or break Crop...  It would be nice if it had more volume in the states tho. in the mean time, I keep buying what I can :)
