RE:RE:Sven

RE:RE:Sven" If you have a job in LA and can't afford an $850,000 home, guess where you are moving if you want a safe neighborhood?"
That makes total sense.
You have a job in LA, not Tehachapi.
You can't afford an $850,000 house in LA so you move 2.5hrs away to Tehachapi.
You commute 5hrs per day, five days a week.
If it's a 9-5 job.
You get up at 5am, leave at 6am, drive 2.5hrs (have to be on time otherwiswe you won't have a job), work till 5pm. drive 2.5hrs back to Tehachapi, hpoefully have some dinner ready for you at 8pm, kiss your children goodnight, in bed by 9pm so you get your 8hrs of sleep.
There a life in the suburbs for you.

That scenario is totally unrealistic.
Sure you may move to Tehachapi if you have work within an hour's commute, you can work remotely or you're retired.
You are not moving to Tehachapi and commuting to LA.
