My theory

Selling to pick up cheap warrants before they expire. Also shows a gain in his fund.

I'd like to know where he is placing the proceeds of this sale.  He probably is buying another GBR for $1.

Maybe you didn’t understand. He is selling the cheap PP shares for a gain shown to the fund and buying the cheap warrants that came with them before they expire. Same GBR.
